The Bulgarian kept their seven fighters in seven different categories, securing seven medals for their federation. Sweden also got through with six athletes, and Italy with four, all of them with a medal guaranteed. Kazakhstan and Azerbeijan made it to the semi-finals and will take home their first medal in the male competition.
The third day of competition in Prague, Czech Republic, for the IMMAF European Open, brought another great performance from Bulgaria and Sweden. Valeri Atasanov won against Colin Meagher from Ireland, that trains in Conor McGregor's, Straight Blast Gym. He had already got pass two oponnents, the first from Germany and the second from Great Britain. He won via split decision, with the same happening to his colleague Nikolay Nikolov. The gold medalist in European 2015, Daniel Galabarov made throught, and the same for Tencho Karaenev, the Worlds Silver medalist, in the Light Heavyweight division. Sweden also made as astonishing results, with only one fighter not making to the semi finals. They keep in competition with Serdar Atlas (Flyweight), Renato Vidovic (Bantamweight), Hoger Salin and Daniel Shalander (Featherweight), Rostem Akman (Middleweight), Irman Smajic (Heayweight). Italy also won all their fights today, with their four fighters making it to the semi-finals. Marco Zannetti defeated Mottram from Great Britain, Gianluiggi Venturozzo won against Hliantsev from Ukraine, Michelle Martignoni got pass by eliminating the last competitor from United States and the Heavyweight, Paolo Anastasi, sucured his victory via split decision against Millward from Great Britain. Also a note for Kazakhstan and Azerbeijan who made history by securing their first medals in the male competition. Sanan Safarli from Azerbaijan submitted Dennis Rhayden from Sweden, and Berik Shinaliev rfrom Kazakhstan defeat Hussain Abdullan via TKO.
